We use a prescribed systemic medicine that is applied to the scruff of Dayo's neck where he can't lick it off. It works for 30 days, and then we need to re-apply. We have done this for about 1.5 years. He's used to us doing this now. We still get a few flea bites here and there, but it's OK.

Apparently dead fleas and skin shedding by Dayo also keeps the flea population in the house itself down. Therefore, using systemic medicine get rid of fleas in general, on your pet and inside the house.Michelle Beisselhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01278477713809914484noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5514229856596002702.post-68444217687193381742013-04-05T16:10:01.992+02:002013-04-05T16:10:01.992+02:00Michelle,

Had to learn the hard way with our first cat how bad fleas could be when they get in your house and multiply. We were first time cat owners and had no idea! Took weeks and about 150 dollars to remove them. Later found out that thorough vacuuming every day for a month was the best thing rather than other suggested methods. Floors, couches every inch of your house as well as little water plates with soap in them through out your house. Sorry, I could go on and on it was unbelievable. Glad you are doing the vet visits or hopefully using the pet treatment for flea protection on Dayo.
